## Caption

I was big on Yoshinobu Yamamoto after the 2023 season. He ended up being every bit as good as they said he was. Back-to-back complete postseason games, with one of them being in the World Series, is incredible.

It’s a shame that the year one pivot was Marcus Stroman and then Max Fried, who had a tremendous first season in pinstripes, fell apart in the same building where Yamamoto dominated. It’s a bummer to see guys like this on other teams, because during another time and place, he’d be a Yankee.

The brand needs a bit of a recalibration, but they seem set in their ways, living off the past.
