When I first started on Instagram, my goal was to earn enough to take my family on a ski trip. I opened a "secret bank account" and reached my goal. Five years later, this is our third trip to Vail for Christmas and it's truly one of the most magical places to spend the holidays!  Less to do at home and more memories to make with family! 

Here are my tips ...

❄️ Go the week of Christmas. It's less crowded and less expensive. We typically go the 20-27. 

❄️ Open presents Christmas morning and then go skiing!  No lines! 

❄️ Although my sister flew directly into Vail, we flew into Denver and drove the 2 hours to Vail. It was $1000 less a ticket x 9. 

❄️ We prefer the Lionshead and Vail Village area. My sister stayed at the @arrabelleatvail (gorgeous) and we rented a house 5 minutes away. (Search Matterhorn Circle on Air BnB.)

❄️ If you fly into Vail and stay in town, you don't need a car. We rented a van from Turo for the drive and excursions. 

❄️ Take a snowmobile ride with @vail_backcountry_tours 

❄️ Go to @bearcatstables for a horse drawn sleigh ride and cabin dinner 

❄️ If you need ski lessons, privates from @vailmtn are the way to go. Ask for Tobias Carricart @tobicarricart , Ben Inbar (@ibinbar ) or @mitchell_krass310 .  Tobias is a grad student from Argentina (the girls loved him.) Ben is a rocket scientist from Cornell (kept the boys in line.) Mitchell is a ski racer who took a kid with no experience to blues on one day. Very protective and caught Charlotte up! 

❄️ Go ice skating at one of two rinks in the village. 

❄️ Favorite places to eat @bart_and_yetis , @bluemoosepizza and @tavernatvail . We ate Christmas dinner at @sonnenalpvail . 

❄️ Shop at @skipperscoutvail , @aviatornationvail .

My sister has never been to Vail at Christmas and we both agree, from a mom's perspective, this is far less stress and work!! Less to do for us at home and more experiences for us to share with family! 

Thanks to Colorado for another amazing trip! I'm ready to come back in summer!! What can we do?
