🇮🇹 When in Rome……

Although I watched countless videos on what to do in Italy, I relied on a travel agent to put together @gracecporter ‘s college gradation gift, a mother-daughter trip to Italy. We’ll also be visiting our first aupair, @sarris89 , in Sweden and finally leaving from Copenhagen, Demark. 

Here’s a summary of what is planned and once we leave from each location, I’ll share the hotel names (just for our own safety.) 

🇮🇹 Venice 
*  Heart of Venice Guided Tour- Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica 
* Private Gondola Ride 

Train Ride from Venice to Rome through scenic Tuscany 

🇮🇹 Rome 
* Private, guided, 5 hour tour of The Vatican, Sistene Chapel and St.Peter’s Basilica. It was recommended we do a private tour to avoid hours long lines to get in. 
*Ancient History Tour, 4 hours, including Colosseum 
*Pasta making class in Trastavere

🇮🇹 Naples
* Pit stop in Pompeii, the city “buried in time” after Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD and buried the town in volcanic ash. 

🇮🇹 Amalfi Coast - Positano 
* Day trip to Capri and Blue Grotto 
*Amalfi Coast by private boat tour 
* Leisure time for beaches and shopping in Amalfi 

🇸🇪 Sweden 
* Kalmar in Southern Sweden to experience Midsummer,  the celebration of the summer solstice and longest day of the year. Think flower crowns, maypoles and strawberry cakes! We used to celebrate it in America when Sara lived with us. 

🇩🇰 Copenhagen, Denmark
One day to explore since we depart from here. I want to see Hans Christian Anderson’s home. He wrote The Little Mermaid and there’s a famous statue there honoring this cultural icon.
