It takes a VILLAGE….so I’m sharing some teen/tween and young adult skincare solutions that worked for our family, following a doctor’s recommendation. Skin can be such a source of insecurity for so many so hopefully this may help. (You can comment “links” for the product list.)

For early onset teen acne or menstrual cycle type acne, we have seen results with this combo:

1. Cetaphil Face Wash for daily washing
2. DermaZinc Bar Soap every 2-3 days. This is an antifungal, antimicrobial and antifungal that treats a lot of skin conditions.
3. Differin Gel. This used to be a prescription and now OTC. Used a pea sized amount at night all over the face.
4. CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion. Since Differin can make the skin sensitive to the sun, a daily SPF is recommended. (MIneral sunscreen for beach type sun.)
5. Panoxyl for body acne. (Jack used this in high school. Good for athletes.)

**LaMer Soft Cream. Emma had some dermatitis and I gave her some of my LaMer to see if it would help. A chemist invented this after he was burned. He used the cells from seaweed that grow 3 ft a day and then discovered this was a healing moisturizer. It has done wonders for Emma..but it is pricey.

For more severe acne, Grace uses:
1. 100 mg of Spironolactone (Rx) for hormonal and cystic acne.
2. 50 mg of Doxycycline, an antibiotic that treats acne from the inside out.
3. Kiehl’s Gentle Face Wash
4. Kiehl’s Moisturizer
5. EltaMD Sunscreen for sensitive and acne prone skin
6. Eliminated gluten which helped with gut and skin issues.

**Birth control didn’t work for the acne. It also made her gain weight and become depressed. Spironolactone also helped regulate her cycle oddly.
