Sometimes motherhood looks like this. 

Sometimes we have early little league games and late night dance awards. 

Sometimes we're under the weather but we show up anyway. 

Sometimes our work projects "catch fire" so we bring our laptops to our kids' events to fix it. 

Sometimes we lose sleep at night worrying about our children.. or the children of our friends. 

Sometimes we forget to pay a bill and get a surprise call from the utility company. 

Sometimes the balance of trying to manage it all breaks... and we end up  on a dirty cafeteria floor, in between costume changes at a dance competition, trying to rest because "taking a break" isn't an option when you're a working mom. 

Sometimes another mother offers you a spare rhinestone ponytail holder for your daughter when she sees you're struggling. 

Because that's what we do. Moms rally. When one is "down," another has it together in that moment. Mothers know each other's heart. We can spot the other mom having a rough day because we've all been there... and that's how we know it's going to be okay. That's how we know we're not alone. 

*Charlotte took this series of unflattering photos. I didn't finish the work I needed to for what was supposed to be today's post... so I posted this instead. Sometimes these photos are reminders that moms are doing the best we can.. and sometimes that is enough.
