THIRTEEN years between these two sisters.... 

FIFTEEN YEARS between my oldest and youngest children... 

... and their bond is inseparable. 

I often get asked about the age gap between my children. The two "bigs" are 18 months apart; the "littles" are all 18 months apart... but there is a gap that ranges from 6-13 years between the two sets. 

When I "started over," the gap was an initial concern but I knew my heart wasn't done. The upside of an age gap is that there is a lack of sibling rivalry, older children gain increased empathy and responsibility while the younger ones gain a role model and an extra hand to hold. I create opportunities for my children to be together.. like last night, we visited Grace while in town for dance. 

Ultimately, my mom offered the best advice when I got remarried and said, "You won't ever regret having a child but you may regret NOT having one." 

So for all of those who are considering another, I offer my mother's words, a few photos and comments from others who have lived the gap or produced one. 💗
