Mid season check in.

We hosted the first Ellington Invitational last Saturday and lots of big things went down. A big thank you to everyone who helped out - athletes, parents, volunteers, officials, and everyone else we’re forgetting.

Vince set the school record in the 400 with a time of 50.30 and also split sub 50 in the 4x4. Moses vaulted 12’0 for the first time and also threw 131 in hammer for his first time in competition. Josh went sub 41 in 300H and won 110H as well. JayeJ won the 1/2 convincingly. Julia popped off some big PRs in the 4x8 and 32. We are excited to bring that meet back again next year.

We had a tough regular season meet vs unbeaten Rockville boys and girls and Stafford yesterday. The boys fell to 8-1 with a tight 79-71 loss. Boys 4x8 hit a 22 second season best with some big PRs but got edged. Vince ran 22.74 in the 2 off a win in the 4 and tight 2nd place finish in the 1. He now owns the #2 all time times in the 1/2 to go with his school record 4. Boys 4x4 also ran 3:31 to grab the win and get on the top 15 list. Abram moved up to #2 all time on the freshman list in PV with 9’6”. A lot of competitive events and can’t wait for a rematch at the conference meet.

The girls split and moved to 5-4 but continue to maximize their numbers. JayeJ won the 1/2/4 with a new PR in the 4. Elise won 100H/LJ/TJ and also qualified for states in javelin with the girls farthest throw since 2005.

Our next meet is next Tuesday vs HMTCA and SMSA.
