President Donald Trump said it seemed obvious that he wouldn’t be allowed to run for a third term, but luckily the GOP has some great people to choose from.

"I have my highest poll numbers that I've ever had," he said. "And you know, based on what I read, I guess I'm not allowed to run. So we'll see what happens. Johnson says you're trolling when you talk about a third term."

According to the 22nd Amendment, the US Constitution limits presidents to two terms in office.

Last week, former Trump strategist and adviser Steve Bannon said that he was confident Trump would get a third term.

He told The Economist that Trump getting a third term would be the “will of the American people.”
