So I’ve stopped breastfeeding. This was the last time that I did. I’m pretty sure it was harder on me than on him because as much as I don’t enjoy it like other moms, now that it’s over I feel some kind of regret covered in guilt.

Honestly, it was just too much, for ME. Between homeschooling and the house, the other 2 kids and trying to feel good myself and do things I love, I felt like a machine and I wasn’t happy. He was great, and that’s why I feel guilty. Because he latched on great and he loved our time nursing. So it feels kind of selfish. Because I did it for my sanity. But he’s so very okay, they always are, it’s always us with the extra thoughts. 

He’s been on full formula for two days and he’s doing good. We had to switch to a new brand because he was fussy and seems to be adjusting much better to it now. 

When we were introducing formula, I got to thinking how crazy it is that society makes you feel that formula is like poison. There are so many reasons so many of us can’t or simply don’t want to breastfeed. And guess what that is okay. No matter what path you choose for your child, we all do it with the best intention and heart. And thought I still have some lingering “guilt” I know it’s all just a societal guilt. And Sebastian will be okay just like his siblings. 

The funny thing is that, Ben who was BF for just 4 weeks has zero allergies and rarely gets sick. Emme was BF for 6 months and she has a peanut allergy, catches a cold in the blink of an eye and is guaranteed to get croup every single winter. And I’m not saying she is less healthy because of BM but it’s interesting to me. 

All this to say, I wanted to share that we are done with the “liquid gold” and I did it for me. And sometimes that’s the best thing we can do as mamas, do things for YOU to make THEM happier♥️ #momofthree #motherhoodunplugged #momtruths
