The first few days with Dario are in the books! ❤️ To say it’s been a rollercoaster is an understatement.

That first night home was... awful. But also sweet. 😅 He hated the bassinet and would only sleep on our chests. As new dads recovering from his NICU stay, we were hyper-alert, which meant zero sleep for either of us.

BUT... it got so much better.

Don’t hate us, but we’ve both been getting 6-8 hours of sleep a night since then. Our secret? A smart sleep shift schedule and the literal godsend that is the Halo SleepSack. He just can’t wiggle out of it.

While sleep is better, we’re still mastering feeding and burping (any tips are welcome!). The Owlet sock is also giving us so much peace of mind that his heart rate and oxygen are okay after his time in the NICU.

It’s been amazing to watch Joshua bond with him over tummy time, while I’ve been taking on the “logistics” (bottles, errands, and tackling that $11,000 NICU insurance claim 🫣). It’s a true “divide and conquer” partnership.

In other news, the amparo (the legal process for his birth certificate here in Mexico) has been filed! And we got a great update on baby #2: he’s measuring in the 77th percentile, and his surrogate is doing wonderfully.

It’s a wild, exhausting, beautiful time. We’re so in love, so tired, and so grateful he’s home. Thank you for following our story.
