Here’s a look back at the action on the field during CHS Football’s 42-21 Senior Day rout of Canadian superpower Huron Heights. 

Amir Hernandez ’26 of Buffalo ran nine times for 148 yards and two touchdowns while Matteo Brusco ’26 of Vaughn, Ontario completed 8 of 12 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns while running for another. 

Elijah Kimble ’27 of Buffalo, Noah Harrison ’27 of Albion and Connor Gaine ’27 of Orchard Park each had TD receptions as Canisius improved to 5-0 at home and 4-0 vs. Western New York heading into the super showdown with St. Francis. 

Canisius (5-3) is at St. Francis (7-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association regular season finale that will determine the No. 1 seed for the playoffs and the No. 1 team in Western New York. 

It will be televised by My TV Buffalo WNYO and Buffalo Toronto Public Media’s radio network. 

Kimble ’27 now has 4,748 career rushing yards, which is 10th on Western New York’s all-time rushing list. Jehuu Caulcrick of Clymer is No. 1 all-time with 6,559; the Monsignor Martin all-time record is held by Reggie Garner of Cardinal O’Hara at 4,984 (seventh all-time in WNY). 

After a bye week next week, the Monsignor Martin postseason schedule begins with semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 15 with the championship Saturday, Nov. 22.

Last year, Canisius routed St. Francis in the regular season, 55-34, as the Crusaders went on to win the MMAA title, its eighth in 13 years. CHS won the final against St. Joe’s, which won at St. Francis in the semifinals.
