Less than a year ago I shot my first ever sports game. Here are the strategies I’ve since used to get credentialed to shoot in 4 countries, everything from bowl games to MLS to Peru’s Liga 1. 

1. Shoot for a supporters’ group (especially for the opposing team). 

2. Find an independent media outlet (in Peru, I used whereisfootball as my affiliation) 

3. Shoot for student papers (more applicable for college sports but I have used it for other events) 

4. Create your own media outlet (more work, but more reliable and gives you more freedom).
