When a Deaf or Hard of Hearing child meets a DHH audiologist, they see possibility.

We need more DHH audiologists in this field - not just for representation, but for what we bring to the profession: empathy, perspective, and lived experience. We know what it’s like to sit in the testing booth, to navigate sound and silence, to advocate, to troubleshoot, and to thrive.

We bridge the gap between technology and human connection, for both families and professionals. Because when parents meet an audiologist who truly gets it, they feel seen. And when kids meet an audiologist who is like them, they feel powerful.

These are just a few of my peers and colleagues who I’ve learned from, found solace in, and feel so seen by. I love this community deeply - each of them reminds me why representation in audiology matters so much.
