#repost  cqca_deltas Today, we come together as #OneDelta to honor our beloved 25th National President, Dr. Paulette C. Fitzhugh Walker.

Initiated through the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at Michigan State University in October 1966, Dr. Walker’s more than five decades of service reflected an unwavering devotion to Delta’s ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. A visionary and steadfast leader, she earned the admiration and respect of sorors across generations for her wisdom, grace, and resolute commitment to uplifting others.

A proud native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Walker dedicated her professional life to education. Soror Walker made her home in Tampa, Florida, where she was a proud member of the Tampa Alumnae Chapter. Before retiring from the University of South Florida as Director of Undergraduate Programs and Internships in the College of Education, she served as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. Her co-authored work, We Can Have Better Urban Schools, embodied her lifelong passion for empowering communities through equitable education and transformative leadership. Her influence extended beyond academics, touching countless lives through service, mentorship, and civic engagement.

Dr. Walker often shared her guiding motto: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Those words capture the confidence, conviction, and courage she inspired in all who knew her. Through her leadership, faith, and love for Delta, she encouraged others to embrace their purpose and share their unique gifts with the world.

As we remember the extraordinary life and immeasurable legacy of Dr. Paulette C. Walker, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated gives thanks for a life well-lived and a soror who embodied an Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership, and Empowerment.

And in her spirit, as our 25th National President 2 + 5 = 7, the number that signifies completeness, divine perfection, and wholeness - we say, take your rest, our dear Soror Walker. Your service to the world and our sisterhood is complete. ❤
