Every day in Johannesburg, South Africa, an estimated 3-4 babies are abandoned—left in trash bags, rivers, and even toilets. 💔

The baby abandonment crisis is a tragic result of poverty, lack of resources and education, and ultimately, desperation. Many families living in informal settlements in South Africa struggle to provide for their basic needs. Some mothers desperately feel they have no choice but to abandon their babies.

It’s heartbreaking. It’s dark. But it’s not hopeless.

We refuse to look away while precious babies—made in God’s image—are being thrown away. We’re called to run into the chaos and to fight for those in their most desperate hour of need.

That’s why we partnered with @ImpactAfrica to launch TTF Impact Baby Rescue— to prevent baby abandonment, provide life-affirming resources and counseling for mothers in crisis, and provide loving 24/7 care for abandoned babies through our TTF Promise Homes.

We’re grateful to share that through TTF Impact Baby Rescue:

- The number of babies being dumped is steadily going down! 🙌
- Nearly 2,000 pregnant mothers are reached every week with life-affirming resources and support.
- Abandoned babies are being rescued, protected, and cared for.
- Many mothers are choosing to keep their babies or are opting for adoption.
- 14 babies are currently being cared for at our 5 TTF Promise Homes.
- 35 babies have been adopted into forever families.

Thank you to our giving family for being a part of this life-saving work for some of the world’s Most Vulnerable People—abandoned babies.
