It’s April 1917 — step inside this Galveston #StormSurvivorSunday through the lens of the local newspaper the day after a beautiful wedding reception was held inside…

“The Arnold residence was decorated with ferns and Easter lilies. These also formed the floral embellishment of the bride’s table and the individual tables encircled around it.” Galveston Tribune, 1917

Built in 1899 for realtor William Conness and his wife Vera, this home was designed by W.H. Tyndall, the same architect behind Broadway’s Moody Mansion — and finished just months before the Great Storm of 1900.

By 1901, the Arnold family moved in and their family remained in the home for ~80 years. 🌿
