Her husband, Abu Bassem, keeps the fire burning with whatever materials he can find — a necessity, as cooking gas remains scarce across the enclave. “If gas enters, it would make things easier,” Mariam said.⁣

According to the Hamas-run Gaza Government Media Office, 3,203 trucks entered Gaza between October 10 and October 31. The office said this amounted to only 145 trucks per day on average — about 24 percent of the 600 daily shipments agreed upon, including 50 fuel trucks.⁣

An Israeli government spokeswoman said Israel is allowing “hundreds of trucks of aid daily” into Gaza, while accusing Hamas of “derailing humanitarian efforts meant for their own people.”⁣
