This Catrina project with forkitvlog has become one of my favorite yearly creations🤍 

Día de los Muertos is one of the most beautiful traditions in our culture a time when we, as Mexicans, celebrate death as a continuation of love, not the end of it. 💛
We honor those who are no longer with us, welcoming their spirits back home with light, color, food, and memories. 🌼

This photoshoot was deeply special to me I tied in the monarch butterfly, a sacred symbol that represents the souls of our loved ones returning to visit. Every year, millions of monarchs migrate from Canada and the U.S. to Mexico, crossing the same borderlines that have always been part of my story.

I’m from the Rio Grande Valley, a border region that feels like both worlds at once. 🕊️
Like the monarch butterfly, I’ve always lived in-between traveling back and forth, growing up in Mexico when times were hard, and finding home on both sides. The border isn’t just a line, it’s a living heartbeat of two cultures that shaped who I am. 🇲🇽🤍🇺🇸

To me, Día de los Muertos is more than tradition it’s a reminder that love transcends distance, life, and time. 🌼✨ - Ivanna rgvtaste_
