Happy National Jellyfish Day! At Butterfly Pavilion, we call them “jellies” because they aren’t actually fish! These soft-bodied invertebrates belong to a group called cnidarians!
At Butterfly Pavilion, you can meet our Upside-Down Jellies, a fascinating species that prefers to rest on the seafloor instead of floating like most other jellies. They lounge belly-down to help the symbiotic algae on their tentacles capture sunlight for energy.
