Hammock decks and floating lounges are coming to the Han River 😎🌊

Inspired by Vienna’s famous Pier 22 along the Danube, Seoul is revamping its riverside rest areas with a fresh, modern design.

The hammock decks will be built right above the water, creating the perfect spot to literally lie back and chill. Pier-style wooden lounges will also be added on gentle slopes to make the Han River even more accessible and relaxing.

According to city officials, once designs are finalized next year, the first installations will appear in Ttukseom, Yeouido, and Jamsil.

Can already feel the warm sun and cool river breeze just thinking about it ☀️💨

한강에 그물침대와 평상형 휴게시설이 들어설 예정입니다😎 

이는 오스트리아 빈 다뉴브 강의 수변공원인 ‘피어22’를 벤치마킹한 것으로 한강 지천 휴게시설의 디자인도 개편될 예정이라고 하는데요. 

그물침대는 강물 위에 그물망을 깔아서 강물 위에 누워 쉴 수 있는, 말그대로 힐링의 공간으로 활용될 예정이에요. 

또한 피어22의 평상형 휴게 시설도 설치될 예정이에요. 경사가 있는 공간에 평상을 설치해 휴식 공간으로써의 한강의 기능성과 접근성을 높일 계획이죠. 

서울시 관계자는 “내년 설계가 마무리되면, 뚝섬과 여의도, 잠실에 우선 평상형 휴게시설을 설치할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다. 

따뜻한 햇빛 맞으며 선선한 강바람 느낄 날이 벌써 기대되네요!
