The Starbucks medicine ball is a popular drink in the fall & winter when everyone is getting sick — and it’s yummy — but with over 30 grams of sugar in a small drink, of course it is :) Here refined sugar free version that is way more potent, with ingredients that actually soothe, and you can make a big batch to store in your freezer for the cost of one Starbucks drink. If you’ve never heard of a “medicine ball,” it is basically a mix of lemonade, mint tea and honey. My version nixes the lemonade and subs real lemon, peel and all, adds lots of fresh ginger, raw honey for sweetness, coconut water for electrolytes and hydration, and of course, the mint tea.⁣

Makes 12-16 cubes (makes 4-5 drinks)⁣
5 organic lemons, scrubbed and washed well, roughly chopped (yes you can include the peel)⁣
1 3-inch piece of ginger, scrubbed and washed well⁣
1/3 cup raw honey⁣
1/2 cup coconut water (@harmlessharvest always!)⁣
Mint tea bags (I used @tazo) and/or Peach tea⁣

Blend all ingredients (except for the tea) until smooth. Transfer to an ice cube tray. Freeze overnight. To make a medicine ball, steep a bag of the mint tea over hot water. Add 3 cubes, more honey and a slice of lemon. Stir and enjoy! NOTE: these are strong — if you prefer to juice the lemons instead of blending the lemons with the peel on, you can do that too. I keep it on because it is a great source of antioxidants, fiber and vitamins!⁣
