5 PUMPKIN CARVING HACKS YOU NEED TO KNOW! Follow 👉🏼 @kalejunkie for more! I’ve shared most of these before over the years here on IG/Tiktok and most recently I picked up a new tip from everyone’s fav grandma @brunchwithbabs—the cinnamon one!), so I wanted to call that out too! Anyway here they are!⁣

1. Cut the bottom of the pumpkin, not the top! This will make it so much easier to insert your lights/candle! Plus it’s prettier without the cut on top :) You also won’t risk cutting the lid wrong, have more space to carve, and you can easily level a wobbly pumpkin. ⁣
2. To quickly and easily remove all the guts from the pumpkin, use a hand mixer. The pro tip is that you need to use force and really get those beaters pressed firmly against the sides and bottom to detach the strings.⁣
3. If you don’t want to cut out shapes with a knife, use fun cookie cutters and a mallet instead. It’s safer than using a knife and fun to do. You can find both at any craft store.⁣
4. To make your pumpkin last longer by locking in the moisture and not get shriveled up, apply vaseline to the cut edges. I know some people also recommend dunking the pumpkin in a bleach solution, but I don’t use bleach in my house so we skipped that one.⁣
5. If you want your carved pumpkin to smell like pumpkin pie, add a little cinnamon inside (1 tsp) and then blot it well! After a few minutes, your house will smell like fall!⁣
