I’ve perfected the method for CRUNCHY wings, even when coated in the yummy honey garlic sauce. This recipe is perfect for Labor Day and FOOTBALL SEASON! Makes 6 servings ⁣
2 1/4 lbs chicken wings (about 24 pieces)⁣
1/4 cup flour or gluten-free flour ⁣
Salt & pepper to taste ⁣
Olive oil or avocado oil spray ⁣
⁣
Sauce⁣
1/2 cup honey ⁣
1/3 cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
1/4 cup water ⁣
4 cloves garlic, mashed⁣
2 tb ginger, grated⁣
1 tb tapioca flour or arrowroot or corn starch⁣
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes⁣
⁣
Garnish: sesame seeds⁣
⁣
Preheat oven to 425. Take a paper towel and dried chicken wings very well. This is a trick to getting them nice and crispy. Toss in the flour salt and pepper. Transfer to a foil or parchment lined baking sheet. I use both to keep my baking sheet clean. *You might need to baking sheets depending on how large your wings are. Add the wings to the baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, for them to the other side at the 20 minute mark. Broil for about two more minutes to get that nice brown color, then remove from the oven. To make the sauce, add all of the ingredients to a small pot on the stove over medium heat, stirring for about 6-7 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Pour the sauce over the wings, toss to coat well and then pop back in the oven for 10 more minutes. Remove from the oven. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and enjoy!⁣
