Follow @kalejunkie for more recipes! SWEET POTATO APPLE PIE SMOOTHIE // Welcome to week 4—the final week—of the KJ smoothie challenge, where the goal in January was simply to add more fruits, veggies, and protein into your diet in a very yummy way!⁣

Today’s smoothie tastes like apple pie, with a hidden veggie—sweet potato—which happens to be packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. I use uncooked sweet potato, but you can certainly add cooked if you’d like! You can find uncooked, pre-chopped frozen sweet potato in the frozen veggie section of your grocery store.⁣

Sweet Potato Apple Pie Smoothie (makes 1 serving)⁣
1/2 cup sweet potato (fresh or frozen)⁣
1/2 apple of choice⁣
1/2 frozen banana⁣
1 scoop vanilla protein powder⁣
1 tsp maca powder (optional, but great for hormone health and has a nice, malty flavor)⁣
1/2 tsp cinnamon⁣
1/2 tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract, but highly recommend the almond!)⁣
3/4 cup - 1 cup milk of choice⁣
Garnish: hemp hearts⁣

Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. IF you are using FRESH sweet potato, add a few ice cubes to the blender too, to keep the smoothie cold. Adjust liquid as needed and scrap down the sides as needed. ENJOY!!!⁣
