Follow @kalejunkie for more tips! THE BEST (NON-TOXIC) WAY TO REMOVE LABELS & STICKY RESIDUE FROM GLASS JARS SO YOU CAN REUSE THEM! Don’t throw away your old glass jars and bottles. You can reuse them for so many things. I use them for food storage in my pantry and refrigerator, but the possibilities are endless! ⁣
⁣
This is the tried and true BEST method for removing the sticky labels quickly and easily (I’ve tried many methods!).⁣
⁣
Method 1: In a large pot, add 1 cup white vinegar and a squeeze of dish soap. Add your glass jars & bottles, with the lids off. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and wait 20 minutes. Gently remove the jars and the labels will peel right off. You might need to scrub a few of them with the soapy water, but 99% of the time, you are done right here. Go reuse those jars! :-)⁣
⁣
Method 2: If there is still sticky residue behind, then here’s how to remove it. In a small bowl, add a few tablespoons of oil (I used avocado oil) and a few tablespoons of baking SODA. Mix until a paste forms. Rub the paste into the jar and let it sit for 20 minutes. Scrub, then rinse with cold water and voila, a clean jar!⁣
