Follow @kalejunkie for more recipes & ideas! MIXED UP NUT BUTTER, the best way to use up those opened packages of nuts (and seeds)! Every year I take inventory of the opened nuts and seeds I’ve purchased and make a big batch of the CREAMIEST and most delicious homemade nut butter. ⁣

This tastes better than anything you can buy in the store and you can customize it to your taste preferences. Want a little sweetness? Add a little maple syrup or coconut sugar.⁣
⁣
Here’s my general recipe (makes 2 cups of nut/seed butter):⁣
2 1/2 cups raw nuts and seeds of choice (I typically use cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds, and sunflower seeds)⁣
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted⁣
1/2 tsp sea salt⁣
⁣
Preheat oven to 350F. Add all nuts and seeds to a baking sheet. Roast for 8-10 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through. Remove the pan from the oven and transfer the nuts to a high-speed blender or food processor. Add the melted coconut oil and salt. Blend until creamy. You might need to scrape down the sides of the blender/food processor a few times. This whole process will take about 5 minutes. Transfer nut/seed butter to a covered container and store in a cool spot in the pantry or the refrigerator (preferred). ENJOY!⁣
