8 WAYS TO MAKE BETTER SANDWICHES and the recipe for this incredible sandwich 🥪! Follow @kalejunkie for more tips and recipes. The reality is that I don’t eat sandwiches that often—no reason other than I’m usually snacking on recipes I’m testing throughout the day. So when I do make a sandwich, it needs to be GOOD. Here are my tips!⁣

1. Start with good bread—any bread you are using for a sandwich should be delicious enough to eat on it’s own.⁣
2. Make your own mayo—I despise 99% of all store bought mayos, but I swear it’s a whole difference experience if you make it yourself.⁣
3. Use lots of fresh or dry spices and herbs for more flavor, such as Italian seasoning, oregano, onion salt, and dill.⁣
4. Use high quality, flavorful deli meat!⁣
5. Instead of laying your deli meat flat, crumble it up for a bigger, more satisfying sandwich.⁣
6. If you are using avocado, mash it first so you don’t have avocado slices falling out and you get some in every bite.⁣
7. Add mayo (or butter) to the bread first. This will protect the bread from getting soggy.⁣
8. Heat it up! I recommend heating it in the homemade to make it nice and crispy on the outside.⁣

Roasted Turkey Smashed Avocado Sandwich⁣
2 slices bread of choice⁣
2 tb mayo⁣
1/4 cup iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced⁣
1 tsp Italian seasoning⁣
1 tsp onion salt⁣
1 tsp red wine vinegar⁣
1 tsp olive oil⁣
4 oz turkey meat or meat of choice⁣
1/2 avocado, mashed⁣
1/2 tomato, thinly sliced⁣
