Our first art installation at Monica Roberts Place is here — and it’s everything I envisioned.

This stunning mural of Monica Roberts now graces the stairway of Monica Roberts Place, SisTers PGH’s one-bedroom apartment housing program for Black and Brown trans folks. Every detail in this portrait holds weight, and every brushstroke was made with love.

We wouldn’t have this beautiful, intentional piece without the hands and heart of ashleyhodderart . Ashley has poured so much into Sisters PGH over the years, and every location we’ve called home has been transformed by her talent. I’m endlessly grateful.

Monica Roberts Place is more than a housing program. It’s a sanctuary. Every element—from the structure to the artwork—has been carefully and intentionally curated to honor Monica’s legacy and protect the lives of BIPOC trans people.
