Temple of Philae and a Nubian Village in Aswan, Egypt 🤍 

on day 3 we headed over to the temple of philae which was one of the last temples built in the classical egyptian style and was mainly dedicated to the goddess of love, magic and motherhood, Isis 🤍 one of the interesting facts we learned while touring the temple of philae was that it was submerged under the Nile due to the Aswan dam so it was moved piece by piece to a nearby island - so the means to ensure this temple was preserved was absolutely incredible!!! it was also cool that you can only reach the temple by boat! it was so beautiful to witness in person and learn more about the history behind it! 💛

in the evening we boarded our Nile River Cruise and afterwards took a boat to a nubian village and met with Mohamed who taught us more about the irrigation system and the three pillars of nubian life/culture which are the nile, women, and the date palm! he made our hearts warm, and it was the perfect way to end the day 💕🇪🇬
