If you’re struggling, skip M for now and dive into Aperture Priority (A/Av) or Shutter Priority (S/Tv). Start with Aperture Priority. This lets you manually control the most creative element—your depth of field (blur)—while the camera handles the shutter speed. Shoot in Av for a week straight. Once you feel comfortable controlling the depth of field, switch to Shutter Priority (S/Tv) for a week to learn how to freeze motion or create blur effects. By isolating the variables, you learn one thing deeply before moving to the next.
