With the ongoing federal government shutdown – there’s a lot of confusion around federal SNAP benefits and if Virginians will be able to get food. Governor Glenn Youngkin set up a state-funded program to fill the gap in the federally funded SNAP program. Charlottesville City Reporter Hannah Davis-Reid spoke with the executive director of the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, who said the commonwealth’s food pantries are seeing record high levels of need.
