Sarah Paulson is reportedly in final talks to play lesbian serial k1ller Aileen Wuornos in Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology ‘Monsters’.

Aileen Wuornos was a former s3x worker who murd3red seven men in Florida between 1989 and 1990, claiming she acted in self-defence against clients who assaulted her.

She was convicted and sentenced to d3ath, and her case became one of America’s most infamous true-crime stories – inspiring the 2003 film ‘Monster’, for which Charlize Theron won an Oscar.

Paulson and Murphy have a long creative history, most notably working together on ‘American Horror Story’.

Speaking to Elle, Paulson historically said of their partnership: “By continuing to employ me and continuing to throw enormous acting challenges at me, he has made me find my confidence, and I did not have that before him.”

Season four of ‘Monsters’ will centre on Lizzie Borden and the brutal axe murd3rs of her father and stepmother.

Although Aileen Wuornos isn’t the main focus of the series, it’s likely the show will explore how Borden’s story shaped society’s view of women who k1ll – mirroring how season three examined Ed Gein’s lasting influence on popular culture.
