The No. 2-ranked California Varsity Eight boat won both its races by defeating No. 3 Brown and No. 7 Yale at the Redwood Shores Challenge (Apr. 12-13). Cal had the fastest time of the entire regatta with a 5:31.8 in the victory over Brown, while securing a time of 5:59.02 in its win over Yale. This is the second MPSF Weekly Varsity-Eight award for California.

3V8 CREW OF THE WEEK

California’s third Varsity Eight boat defeated No. 7 Yale’s 2V8+ and No. 3 Brown’s 3V8+ twice at the Redwood Shores Challenge (Apr. 12-13) for a 3-0 invite. The Bears’ 3V8 boat posted the fourth-fastest time of the weekend in the win over Yale in 5:39.3. This is the second MPSF Weekly Crew award for California, and first or the 3V8.
