Today is 2/07 day, so here is my very first and second 207c and this is the crazy story behind it…

I had gotten lost in a dive 4 years before this and proceeded to close my eyes and dive in fear for YEARS!

I began to hate my sport because it absolutely terrified me. But I was torn as I still loved so many aspects of diving.

So I finally fessed up to my coach and even though I was an Olympic Champion… I had to start completely over.

I had to start with such basics as just falling backward and learning how to open my eyes and see again.

I’m not gonna lie, it was a rough and scary journey, but I’m so thankful I gathered the courage to walk through it.

Following this reset, I not only learned this 207 dive, but I went on to learn so many more difficult dives because I now understood what I was doing, trusted what I was doing, actually fell back in love with my sport and found joy again.

One of my goals for the athletes I coach on mindset and performance is not just to be a great goal crushing athlete but in the process to find their joy and fulfillment in their sport once again.
