I was always very driven to win, yes.

But I worked so hard because just winning was never enough for me.

I wanted more than that.

I wanted to push myself to find out what my full potential was.

I wanted to do impossible things.

I wanted to shatter expectations.

I wanted to be a legend.

But even in my most motivated seasons, the doubt, fear,  and pain still crept in.

Even as driven as I was, there were moments I wanted to give up.

But allowing myself to remember why I started, to focus on what I loved about my sport gave me the opportunity to push through, embrace and find joy in the journey.

Why did I then come back after a 9 year retirement with 4 kids in tow?

Because I just love to dive.

It’s fun, it’s exhilarating, and it makes me feel alive.

When things get hard, remember why you love what you do.
