Before Be My Eyes became the global community it is today, it started as an idea—a simple way to connect people who are blind or low-vision with sighted volunteers for everyday support.

This early sketch from 2012 shows the concept in its simplest form: A person at a bus stop, unsure if they're in the right place, reaching out for assistance via Be My Eyes. A volunteer answers, confirming, "Yes, you are!" — and just like that, accessibility is unlocked.

Fast forward to today, and that same idea has connected millions of people worldwide, with over 43 million user requests a year.
