Vivian Wilson has spoken out about wanting to be recognised for her own name – not just referred to as “Elon Musk’s trans daughter”.

Responding to an article shared by actor George Takei on social media, Wilson wrote: “I much appreciate the support and am a huge fan of your work, but my name is Vivian Wilson.”

She added that the post was not intended as a “callout”, but that she “worked hard to get [her] name and would like to be referred to as such in the headline lol.”
When a social media user commented that it “must be tiring” to keep seeing the phrase “Elon Musk’s transgender daughter,” Wilson replied: “Hah yeah can’t lie about that lol.”
