1. Check your blood levels!🩸 During the winter, Vitamin D levels can decrease, and can lead to deficiencies.☀️😭 And Vitamin D—and Iron deficiencies—are 2 common deficiencies linked to hair loss + brittle hair. (FYI: I read that it is estimated that almost 3/4 of Black Americans are deficient in Vitamin D😢). So make sure you schedule a visit at your doctor’s office to check your levels 🤗👩‍⚕️

2. Hairstyles🔥 For us curlies, it’s always best to minimize straightening our hair. But especially during the spring + summer when the humidity is high😭☔️ The high humidity could lead to sleek styles hair reverting quicker… and this could lead to more straightening touch-ups throughout the week. And more heat= higher chance of heat damage + breakage😩 So I’d try swapping sleek + straight styles for braids, textured styles, & low-maintenance styles during the spring 🌷

3. Styler! Due to the increase in humidity☔️, I would make sure to add a styler to my hair routine (gels, mousse, pomade, etc)🙌🏾 Stylers help to create a cast on the hair to reduce frizz. This can lead to less tangles, less single-strand knots, and overall less hair manipulation throughout the week. (some of fav stylers are linked in my bio🤗)

4. Spring Hair Shedding➰ Did you know that some people experience increased shedding during the Spring (and Fall)?!? 🤯It’s called seasonal shedding. Experts dont know exactly why it occurs😩, but I guess our scalp is doing some spring-cleaning? lol 🌸🧹 So I would expect a bit of increased shedding during the seasonal changes. However, if the shedding became severe then I would schedle an appointment with the dermatologist!✨

5. Trims! I’d do a seasonal dusting if my ends were in good shape.✂️ Or a trim/ cut if I was dealing with breakage, see-through ends, and split-ends!

These are my 5 spring-time tips!🌸Let me know what you think… or anything that I missed🤗
