Our next #WhyMoody spotlight also doubles as a Life After Moody feature! Meet Susan Nam, a #TEXASMoody alum and one of our career coaches at the Moody College Career Center. Susan graduated from Moody College in 2022 with both her txadpr and utexascld degrees!

“I loved interacting with the Moody College Career Center during my undergrad years. The career coaches were compassionate and genuinely seemed to care about student success. When I was figuring out my own professional journey, I knew I wanted to do something related to career services and to give back to the field that helped me feel confident in my own career journey.”

After graduating from Moody College, Susan had a brief stint in PR with a local ad agency. She quickly learned that although she enjoyed her PR classes, PR work was not her calling. Her stepping stone to a career in career services was serving as a student program coordinator at UT Austin’s central career office for two years. Fast forward now, she’s at her dream job at Moody College, which feels like a full-circle moment. 

Susan said she wouldn’t be where she is today without #TEXASMoody staff, professors and mentors. She said it’s a privilege for her to help students in the same way. Her #1 tip to students is to remember to include their academic projects on their resume, as they’re gaining real-world, industry-relevant experience in their classes. 

The Moody Bridge is her favorite spot for pictures, and she also loves the peaceful lawn area in front of DMC. Susan also loves the sausage, egg and bacon jam sandwich at Cappy’s Lucky Lab. 

“The vibes at Moody are unmatched! The students and staff here are so creative, playful and passionate about what they do.”
