Chassis #120: The Unrestrained Clio V6 Trophy Story 🏁

This is the story behind a true unicorn: a Renault Clio V6 Trophy, one of just 159 factory-built race cars produced for Renault’s one-make racing series.

It’s powered by a rear-mounted 3.0L V6 paired with a six-speed sequential transmission. A true hero car to Andrew, discovered playing Gran Turismo 2 decades ago & from Top Gear review of the road-car! 

A Champion’s Pedigree:
This specific example, Chassis #120, is a proven winner. It competed in the German DMSB race series, finishing third in the 2000 championship and, incredibly, winning the Nürburgring race that same year. It currently wears the facelifted 2003 bodywork from later seasons.

The Restoration:
Imported in 2023, it arrived neglected. Rough bodywork and running poorly. The owner Anthony, immediately began a full strip-down, correcting an incorrectly installed timing belt and meticulously repairing every scratch and crack in the fiberglass before repainting the entire car panel by panel. It has been faithfully restored to its historic 2003 racing specification.

For the owner, this car exemplifies the beauty of engineering when it’s unrestrained by corporate accountants. It carries a genuine racing pedigree, and you can see it in person!
