Today’s stanford Sleep and Dreams lecture by ysleep1993 was all about narcolepsy and Restless Leg Syndrome. Did you know: 

🐶 Dr. Dement called his congressman to help bring the first narcoleptic poodle from Canada to Stanford to study narcolepsy since airlines wouldn’t let him bring “the dog with an illness” onboard?

💤 Stanford maintained a narcoleptic dog colony for years while Dr. Mignot studied and eventually discovered the gene for canine narcolepsy. 

🐾 When the dog colony was closed down, I almost adopted one of the last narcoleptic dogs!
