Richard Vankueren, an Army veteran from Hanford, has found a new way to share his love for music and writing with the help of artificial intelligence. Vankueren, who has been passionate about music since he was 10 years old, faced challenges in turning his poems into songs as he grew older. "Through his music though he's opened up a lot and he's telling his story a lot more," Kandace Vidal, The Remington Senior Living celebration director, said. Chris Homen, the sales and marketing director, took Vankueren's poems and used AI to transform them into songs. Homen admitted he was nervous about the project and was not sure how Richard would react. "I was so nervous because it's touchy getting involved in somebody else's art," Homen said. "I didn't know if this was going to be something that brought joy, brought pain, because he can't do it anymore." However, Vankueren was thrilled with the results.
