As the world gathers at #COP30 to tackle the climate crisis, we’re calling out Toyota to stop greenwashing biofuel cars. ⁣

Biofuels come from plants, algae, or animal waste and can be liquid or gas. While they offer an alternative to fossil fuels, many types harm land, ecosystems, and communities. ⁣
⁣
Greenpeace and can.international, representing over 1,900 civil society organisations worldwide, reject the so-called “Belém 4x Pledge” on biofuels. ⁣
⁣
Expanding biofuel production threatens forests, food security, and climate goals, echoing scientific consensus that crop-based biofuels are a false solution to the energy and climate crises.⁣
⁣
By promoting a false solution at the world’s climate summit in the heart of the Amazon, Toyota is undermining global efforts to cut emissions fast enough to avert the worst climate catastrophe. ⁣
