Be inspired by the resilience of Julio, a young man with Down syndrome in Guatemala who radiates hope, love, and joy despite walking through unimaginable loss. 

Julio, a charismatic and passionate student at Tebow Down Guatemala, had a special bond with his father growing up—they lovingly called each other their “Life.” But when his father tragically passed away, and later his mother during the COVID-19 pandemic, Julio was faced with two heartbreaking losses at a very young age. He was also an only child. 

“My ‘life’ is gone...” Julio would say. 💔 

Thankfully, his aunt Beatriz stepped in, becoming both caregiver and mother figure to Julio. With strength, unshakeable faith, and deep love, she made a promise to never let Julio face life alone—and she’s kept it every day since. 

Thanks to Tebow Down Guatemala, Julio has found a Christ-centered community that surrounds him with loving care, support, therapies, and educational and vocational opportunities to help him grow and thrive!
