🔥🙌🏾 He paid off the student loans of the entire Morehouse College Class of 2019 and now his organization is returning to Atlanta to launch what many are calling the biggest HBCU fundraiser ever.

The Student Freedom Initiative, founded by businessman, philanthropist and Alpha Phi Alpha brother Robert F. Smith, has partnered with Live Nation Urban(livenationurban) to launch HBCU AWARE FEST 2026 (awarefestival), a national cultural and educational movement focused on confronting the student debt crisis impacting Black communities.

Set for Spring 2026, the weeklong festival will take place in Atlanta with support from Kappa Alpha Psi brother and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. Organizers aim to raise millions for HBCU students, blending entertainment, education and social impact to spark a nationwide conversation about the financial realities facing Black college students.

The lineup is massive, featuring Jill Scott, John Legend, Earth, Wind & Fire, Metro Boomin, GloRilla, Tems, Jeezy, Kirk Franklin, Coco Jones, Common, PJ Morton, Yolanda Adams, Mickey Guyton, Adam Blackstone and Travis Greene. Special appearances will include Robert F. Smith, Mayor Dickens, Chris Paul, Dr. Jamal Bryant, Larenz Tate, Angel Reese, Big Boi, 2 Chainz and Ryan Clark, along with a performance from the cast of Alicia Keys’ Broadway show Hell’s Kitchen.

The festival arrives at a critical moment. Black graduates carry disproportionate student debt, with the average Black undergraduate leaving school with roughly 38,000 dollars in loans, delaying homeownership and family planning for many.

Organizers say HBCU Aware Fest is designed to spark sustained national action. As they put it, “We are not just responding to a crisis. We are building the future.”
