INDIGENOUS RIGHTS NOW ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

On Monday 17 November, the Indigenous Peoples’ March brought Indigenous Peoples and activists into the streets of Belém to mark Indigenous Peoples’ Day at #COP30 and open the second week of the conference.

Organised by the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (apiboficial), the march carried the message ‘We are the answer’, highlighting climate demands rooted in the defence of Indigenous rights and territories.

Across the Amazon, the Congo Basin, and Papua, Indigenous Peoples safeguard some of the most vital forests on Earth, protecting ecosystems and knowledge that sustain the planet. Their leadership is central to any serious plan to defend forests and keep the 1.5°C limit alive.
