Last week, the Dwight community came together for our 8th Annual Service Week — a powerful demonstration of how service, collaboration, and compassion can create meaningful change across our city and beyond.

From our youngest learners decorating Thanksgiving placemats to faculty and staff donating blood to save lives, our entire community found a way to give back.

🌍 Assembled 53 custom spice bags for WSCAH's Thanksgiving distribution
🎨 Hosted Paint & Plant Parties across three sessions in collaboration with our EAL Program
💙 Created 100+ friendship bracelets connecting Dwight to the WISER School in Kenya
🍂 Collected donations for NY Common Pantry's Thanksgiving Food Drive in partnership with Dwight's Parent Association
🕯️ Assembled personalized Shabbat Kits for Jewish seniors in assisted living
🥪 Made fresh sandwiches for GrassrootsGroceryNY community fridges
🎨 Illustrated delivery bags and wrote uplifting notes for Heart of Dinner recipients
🩸 Donated life-saving blood through our Bi-Annual NewYorkBloodCenter Blood Drive

This week reinforced what we know to be true: when our community comes together with purpose, no act of service is too small to make a difference. Thank you to our students, faculty, staff, and families for embodying the Dwight spirit of giving back.
