Hot Take: Babies shouldn’t be taken from their mothers?

Why is this a “hot take”? Because I’m talking about baby COWS. The dairy and milk industries take babies from their mothers every single day. 

Cows are mammals like us. In order for a cow to produce milk, she has to be pregnant, just like a human. The mother is forcibly impregnated and carries her baby for 9 months - after her baby calf is born, he/she is taken away from their mother so he/she can’t drink their mother’s milk. The mother is attached to a milk producing machine just like all of the other mother cows whose babies got taken from them. 

What happens to the baby calf? If she’s a female, she is raised to have the same horrible fate as her mother - If he’s a male, he gets sent straight to the slaughterhouse to be used as veal or 1 year later killed as a “grown” cow.

And that’s why I use Vegan protein powder in my cream of rice instead of whey protein.
It’s not hard to make that simple switch and BE THE CHANGE for the animals & yourself. 🌱💚
