When I first started hire women it was geared towards bringing awareness to the lack of women (especially WOC) in ceo/executive roles. Eventually and organically it became more about mindset and breaking away from limiting beliefs that keep us from demanding more and knowing our worth (our REAL worth not the limiting belief worth). Yes — more women need to be in leadership roles making way more $$$ and YES there are significantly more obstacles for WOC to be in these high level positions, but some of those obstacles we create on our own by not asking/demanding our worth which is rooted in not believing we deserve more or that we should be “thankful” to even be in the room. No. We need to change that. We’re an asset. We got the juice. We’re the plug. We deserve to be in those rooms. We deserve to have our own rooms, actually. We have barriers to break, including mindset barriers. We got work to do. I don’t believe you need to overwork yourself to attain success, even though the hustle is in us because that’s what we saw our parents do. It’s time to thrive on our own terms.
