On November 20 — Transgender Day of Remembrance, we pause. We mourn. We uplift. We remember.

This year, transequalitynow released a report documenting that 58 trans and gender non-conforming lives were lost . 27 of those deaths were violent. 21 were by suicide.

We carry their names. We carry their stories. Their lives mattered. Their existence made this world a better place.

We mourn these losses, and recommit ourselves, today and every day, to keep fighting for a world where no one’s life is taken simply for being who they are.
